Bee Friendly Wine Tour
The Bee Friendly Wine Tour is your chance to learn how to help bees at home, while enjoying some of the finest wines that the Willamette Valley has to offer. At the events you will learn skills to help bees from Oregon wine growers, as well as Oregon State University Master Beekeepers and Master Melittologists. Tour stops focus on four core skills: beekeeping, bee biodiversity, planting for bees, and mason bees. Visit events in all four categories and earn an Oregon Bee Friendly Wine ball cap. The tour is supported by USDA Western Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Farmer/Rancher grant and a Specialty Crop Block Grant.

April 26-27 - Willamette Valley Vineyards Estate

Come to our Estate in the Salem Hills for a Mason Bee Tour & Tasting. The tour will take you through our Estate Vineyard, where you'll learn about our Mason bee program and how it encourages sustainable growing practices. Steven Paisley, who works with our vineyard team to incorporate Mason bees on the property, will provide a behind-the-scenes look at our pollinators at work. The cost includes the tour, a tasting of select wines, and a honey-themed cheese plate. Admission will be complimentary with the purchase of two or more bottles of your favorite wines of the day.

April 20-21 - Willamette Valley Vineyards Estate

April 27 - Domaine Willamette
(multiple times available from 11am - 4pm) - 19255 N HWY 99W, Dayton, OR 97114
Domaine Willamette will host a bees and plants tour around the property. Wine will be poured along the way as guests visit the Biodynamic Garden and learn from a Master Melittologist speaker, travel to the pond to learn about biodiversity and biodynamics, and then head to the cellar doors. Inside the cellar, guests will learn from a Master Gardener. The tour will conclude in the Barrel Room, where snacks will be provided and attendees can choose their favorite wine of the day.
May 4 - Abbey Road Farm
(12pm - 3pm) - 10280 NE Oak Springs Farm Rd, Carlton, OR 97111
The tour at Abbey Road Farm will focus on biodiversity, bees, and plants. Planting with a purpose and how to add pollinator-friendly plants into the landscape will be discussed. This experience will include a walk around the property and it is advised that attendees bring bottled water, comfortable shoes, and a jacket depending on weather conditions. A boxed lunch, a glass of bubbles, and a souvenir will be given to each attendee!
May 5 - Stoller Family Estate - Stoller’s Hanna Farm Orchard
(9am - 11:30pm) - 16161 NE McDougall Rd, Dayton, OR 97114
Experience the newest addition to the Stoller Family Estate property: the Hanna Farm. Head of Corporate Gardens, Corinne Gosnell, will take you through our heirloom orchard as it wakes from its winter slumber and show you the sustainability practices that allow our native mason bee population to flourish. These unique pollinators are an important part of the Willamette Valley ecosystem, so join us to learn more about these species and our work to preserve this land for future generations.
Indulge in a delightful selection of pastries with fresh seasonal fruits, complemented by a choice of tea, coffee, and a refreshing glass of Sparkling wine following your stroll.
May 11 - Left Coast Estate

Come visit our beautiful 490-acre estate during peak Spring bloom!
Walking Tour: We will be doing a walking tour of the estate and highlighting our oak restoration project. You will learn about the processes that we've undergone over the last 8 years to realize this transformation and the ongoing efforts to continue to enhance our natural landscapes for native flora and fauna. Walking tour participants will meet at the Tasting Room at 10:45 am. We will be walking about 1 mile in distance with 200 feet of elevation change. Please bring appropriate footwear for an outdoor hike. The tour will last about an hour and is free to participate. After the tour, our Tasting Room will open at noon with wood-fired pizzas, lunch options, and wine tasting available.
Peak Bloom Flatbed Truck Experience at 12 pm: Additionally, we will be offering an in-depth estate bloom experience in our 1950 flatbed truck. This ticketed truck tour starts at 12 pm and lasts 90 minutes. We will travel across the estate and visit some of Left Coast's most scenic vistas. We will learn about viticulture, the history of the estate and visit our more remote gardens with Estate Master Gardener and member of Family Ownership, Bob Pfaff. The tour ends with Wine Tasting paired with small bites. Availability is limited with space only available for 12 guests. Price is $90 per guest (15% discount for Wine Club Members).
May 18 - Winter's Hill Estate

Winter’s Hill Estate hosts a bees and plants walk. Join owner Emily Gladhart as we explore the various bee-friendly plantings at different locations throughout the property. Master Melittologist volunteers will be present to conduct a bee safari as we wander the grounds, exploring the current season’s bees. Winter’s Hill has a focus on native plants and has an oak woodland, which will all all be highlighted on the tour. Wine will also be poured at multiple stations throughout the tour! Wear sturdy shoes- we will be taking a 1/2 mile walk.
June 8 - Youngberg Hill Inn & Winery

Join us for an immersive experience celebrating the symbiotic relationship between bees, biodynamics, and winemaking at Youngberg Hill. This tour, led by Nicolette, our resident beekeeper and owner, offers a unique insight into our biodynamic practices and the vital role bees play in our ecosystem.
We will gather at the Inn at 10:00 am. After a brief introduction, we will walk through our biodynamic vineyard, where Nicolette will discuss sustainable farming practices and the importance of bees in vineyard management. We will even visit the beehives! The tour will end in the tasting room, where you can enjoy a honey mimosa paired with a honey-topped crostini.
Honey will be available for purchase; feel free to enjoy a wine tasting after the tour and stick around for our summer open market experience.
June 21 - Fairsing Vineyard

Fairsing Vineyard hosts Bee Friendly Fairsing Friday, an evening event with bottle service on the lawn. This event will feature a special bee education component. Savor a glass of wine, enjoy the views, and learn how to help bees at home from distinguished Oregon State University Master Melittologists. Picnics are welcome and bottle service on the lawn will be available as experts share tips on plantings and species that attract pollinators. Fairsing will share updates on our honey bees, the apiary, and Mason bee incubators across the estate. Bottle service will conclude at 7 pm.
June 19-23 - The Grove

Montinore Vineyard hosts a Bee Friendly Wine tasting room tour at The Grove.
Stop by The Grove during normal business hours Wednesday, June 19th through Sunday, June 23rd, for a tasting flight and leave with bee-friendly seed packets to plant in your home garden. While you’re there, you'll also have the opportunity to learn more about the bee species at our vineyards and the various cover crops we plant to attract them.

June 29 - Sokol Blosser

Join Susan Sokol Blosser, one of the founding members of the Oregon Wine Industry turned beekeeper, and learn about the history and sustainability of Sokol Blosser Winery. A local melittologist and Susan will help you identify bees, learn about the flora in the Sokol Blosser vineyard while you stroll through the vines sipping on wine from various stations throughout the property. Return to our scenic tasting room for some hand-crafted bites from Chef Jonathan made with Sokol Blosser Estate honey.
July 27 - Winter's Hill Estate

August 10 - Soter Vineyard

Join us as we embark on a vineyard hike of Mineral Springs Ranch. This adventure will highlight our biodynamic vineyard practices, our 1% For the Planet certified wines, and the incredible impact The Oregon Bee Project has in the Willamette Valley.
We will begin the evening hike at Soter Vineyards tasting room and continue to the top of the vineyard where we will have a resting station to enjoy sweeping views of the valley towards the coastal mountain range. Additionally, you will hear from a volunteer from the OSU Master Melittologist program who will lead a discussion on bees and plants and their important relationship! We will then loop around the vines to view our 3-acre farm and winery before returning to the tasting room. The hike will include walking on uneven ground, in full and part sun, with some elevation gains. Guests should be prepared for a 45–60-minute walk. Throughout the walk, you will sample our Planet Oregon wines and enjoy a few seasonal snacks along the way. Finish your tour with a glass of wine watching the sunset.
This tour will be led by resident Soter educator Dr. Jeff D. Peterson, an expert in Oregon wine, history, and viticulture. Join us and be part of this extraordinary adventure at Mineral Springs Ranch—a unique blend of nature, wine, and sustainable growing practices!
September 7 - Brooks Wine

Join our biodynamic estate gardener and resident beekeeper, Shannon Mayhew, for a bee-friendly wine tour! Learn about late-season pollination sources and the importance of nurturing them, ideal plants to cultivate, and methods for propagating existing plants in your garden. Shannon will also discuss the significance of native bees and how pollinator resources benefit honeybees. She'll also cover garden preparation for fall and winter, encouraging a more natural appearance to provide habitats for wintering invertebrates. Wear comfortable shoes for touring newly planted hedgerows and visiting our bees in the Brooks estate garden. Wine is included with this tour.

This is an intimate walking tour with our Head Gardener Corinne Gosnell. As we walk a simple conversation will unfold on how we developed our Experiece Center's blooming Ring Garden and the Wall Garden. The plants that generate pollen and nectar though-out nine months of the year for our native estate bees. How the curated plantings sustain the bumble bees and various pollinators that we all love and need. A picnic lunch with a glass of Stoller Rose is included in the 65$ RSVP *Club Members will recieve a discount. A list of plants in tour will be handed out to each atendee with Native Bee Chart.
